SL Crawler is the first website that truly delivers this functionality and will be improved upon continually over time. Powered by GoogleThe SL Crawler is powered by Google and directly accesses a sub-set of the Google index which has been carefully selected by our editors and users. SL Crawler ChannelsThe SL Crawler includes a number of channels which can be used to refine your search results. Selecting our News channel, for example, will boost the position of popular Second Life News resources in your search results. The Directory Channel boosts results drawn from our own directory. The Network Channel pulls relevant results from supported social bookmarking services. Classifieds crawls sites such as second411.com & search.sleeplabs.com to find items for sale in public simulators and Slurls crawls slurl.com for teleport links to second life locations. Development PlansOver the next 12-18 months, we are focusing on adding resources to our existing channels to grow the SL Crawler index to a critical mass. After this, we will focus on adding more channels to the site and improving the quality of results though more aggressive filtering. |
